The awards aim to celebrate women in business and both Gemma Saunders, employed by the charity as Corporate Partnerships Officer
and Lisa McKenzie, secretary to Autism Wessex’ CEO and the Facilities and Procurement Manager, have reached the finalist stage in their respective categories. Gemma has been nominated as ‘Networker of the Year’ and Lisa as ‘PA of the Year.”
Bob Lowndes, CEO of Autism Wessex said “We are delighted that two highly valued members of the team have both reached finalist stage in their respective award categories. As a charity we pride ourselves on employing outstanding people in every area of our work. It is common for our front line staff to be recognised for the work they do with those people we support. It is less common for office staff to be recognised in their roles which are just as crucial. I am delighted to have our unsung heroes acknowledged in this way and for the calibre of our staff to be recognised.”
Autism Wessex is the regional charity providing high quality specialist services for people affected by autism and associated difficulties across four counties including Dorset. In a world that advocates for inclusive communities and services, Autism Wessex’ services are now available to anyone with a learning or physical disability or associated mental health problems who may benefit, and not exclusively for those with an autism diagnosis.
The charity’s social care services Community Wessex are on a recruitment drive to find support workers. Anyone interested in joining the team is asked to contact Jo Pattison on 01202 853000.
