Moors Valley Country Park shortlisted for the 2017 Dorset Tourism Awards
As part of International Compost Awareness Week which is being held from 5 to 11 May 2014, Borough of Poole is encouraging more residents to get composting with a special ‘Share and Save’ offer promoted in partnership with getcomposting.com.
The Buy One Get One Half Price offer on the already discounted compost bins means residents can team up with a family member, friend or neighbour to get the first compost bin for only £6.00 and the second for only £3.00 plus delivery. This is a massive saving of over 60% on the full price of £39.00.
Once put to use, household organic waste can be recycled into fantastic peat free compost, that will not only improve the quality of home grown fruit and vegetables but increase yield, providing an abundance of produce to share between family and friends.
Additionally home composting is a cheaper alternative to chargeable garden waste collections and has the added benefit of producing a FREE supply of top quality compost.
Councillor Xena Dion, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for a Prosperous and Sustainable Poole, Borough of Poole, said: “More than 15% of the average household bin can be composted and although many households already compost at home, we want others to get involved. Home composting organic waste also helps to significantly reduce carbon emissions and can also be used as an effective and sustainable waste management method to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.”
There are a range of compost bins and accessories available to suit new recruits and seasoned gardeners. For full details or to order visit www.getcomposting.com, or call 0844 571 4444. The Buy one Get One Half Price Offer is available on selected products. A one off delivery charge of £5.99 applies.
