This new development sees tracks suitable for all ages and abilities. Ferndown Town Council, working in partnership with East Dorset District Council’s Countryside Management Service, have implemented the project and have continued to enlist the help of the community to help design and develop the area for optimum results.
Users are allowed to create their own jumps and improve those that are already there as they wish.
Jade North, Senior Area Warden for the Urban Heaths Partnership, said: “For a long time it has been recognised that Ferndown needs an area designed for cyclists. Dirt jumping has become a popular sport and encourages health, fitness and development of new skills. In this region many people of all ages have started to develop an interest and the facilities have not existed until now”.
