Having just been named the Best Euronics Store in Britain, what do you believe is the secret to Baileys success?
Our success is founded on strong customer care and going that extra mile to ensure customers keep returning again and again. Being a member of the Euronics buying group gives us a wide choice of top brands at competitive prices.
This wasn’t the only prestigious award you won last year, would you like to tell the readers about the award you won earlier in 2012?
In August of 2012 we were awarded the IRERT Magazine’s Best UK Small Independent Electrical Retailer, this is a very prestigious award that was judged by top people from within the industry, we were judged on our customer service, business ethics and forward thinking.
Do you see the success you are having in Verwood bringing in a new raft of customers looking for the kind service that they may not find in certain high street stores?
The high street is under threat mainly due to internet pricing, very rarely will you now see an independent electrical retailer in a high street and therefore customers are losing the experience of those shops that go that extra mile or have that unbiased expertise to offer. Unfortunately more and more customers seem to be more interested in price rather than service and aftercare, you would be surprised how many people we see who wish they had purchased locally once a problem occurs. It becomes frustrating when customers use retailers as a showroom and information centre and have no intention of buying from them. If this trend continues at its current rate, customers will have nowhere to look, touch and find out about products. Here at Baileys we try to explain to customers the benefits of dealing with us and in most cases we can certainly get very close to online prices so it’s a win win situation for customers.
With most retailers having online sales available 24/7, is that something you will be launching in the future?
Because we are part of the Euronics buying group, customers can visit the Euronics website, search for Baileys under the store finder and order online 24/7, the prices are very competitive; the range of brands and products huge.
What do you think it is that makes you stand out from the crowd, your unique selling points?
We are very proud of our customer service, we are honest (Trading Standards approved) and go that extra mile, we have a smart showroom with friendly knowledgeable staff who are not biased towards any particular brand. We have direct face-to-face contact with manufacturers which allows us to resolve issues quickly if required.
After a fantastic year in 2012, what are the goals, in terms of awards, you have set for yourselves for 2013?
We have had a very successful year in what has been very difficult trading conditions. We will continue to strive to be the best in our field doing things the right way and looking after our customers as only we can. Our customer base continues to grow with new customers and I would urge any customers looking for new electrical products to ’give us a try before you buy.’
